About Hanna Howard, Owner/Certified Massage Therapist
My Personal Story…

I grew up receiving massage as a once a year treat for my birthday. I considered it a luxury and believed that I could only treat myself on special occasions.

One year for my birthday, I received a massage from Hope Bockus which changed everything. Her style and technique were the best that I had ever received.

I couldn’t believe how loose and fluid my neck felt afterward. I walked out of the treatment room feeling like I had a bobble head!

That’s when my relationship with massage changed.

Hope explained that with monthly massages and at home stretches I could maintain this new found freedom in my neck.

By keeping a monthly regimen of receiving bodywork from Hope my neck feel better and my stress levels were lower. I also noticed other areas of my body releasing and letting go of years of tension.

Massage was having a big impact on the quality of my life and when Hope opened up her own massage school, I decided to enroll and learn how to help others as well. By the end of my 9 month training, I opened the doors of Emerge Massage Studio in 2006.

My practice was born out of a vision and desire to create a truly nurturing and therapeutic massage experience. I am tremendously grateful and honored to play a part in helping others pursue a life that is more balanced, peaceful and healthy, with the best diet and supplements as the best kratom extract you can get online.

Since 2006 I have continued my education and I have accumulated over 1,000 hours of training and 8,000+ hours of hands-on work in my practice.

Ashiatsu Barefoot MassageIn 2013 I became certified in Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage.

This is a technique where the Massage Therapist stands on the massage table and uses overhead bars for leverage and balance while massaging the client with warm, clean feet.

After receiving this style of massage from a friend, I was blown away. The broad pressure of the feet, combined with the sweeping, gliding movements lulled my muscles into a state of total relaxation and ease.

I knew that this was my future in massage.

In 2013 I took the Barefoot Basics and Anterior/Side-lying training. After a year of practicing the basics, I earned my Advanced Ashiatsu Certification and my practice is now comprised of about 90% Barefoot Bodywork.

As a Vermont native, I have lived in the Burlington area my entire life. In 2015 my husband and I purchased a yurt and moved to the Montpelier area. We love the little homestead that we’re building and enjoy sharing stories about our adventures living off grid!

When I’m not massaging, I enjoy foraging for wild edibles, spending time with my husband Tracker and our house rabbit Noni, gardening and playing outside.
