If you want to relax while getting out of pain, it’s going to happen during any massage at Emerge Massage Studio. Your relaxation, bliss, and feeling pampered is important to me, but it’s not my main focus. What’s important to me, is helping you get out of pain now.
What to expect:
After we discuss what your goals are for your session, I will leave the room while you disrobe to your comfort level. When I return, I wash and warm my feet before beginning your massage. Many people can’t tell the difference between my hands and feet and often comment on how the feet provide a much more comfortable and soothing experience than a traditional “hands-only” massage.
During a barefoot massage, I will check in regularly to learn what level of pressure you prefer. You are always in charge of the depth being used during your massage. While this style of bodywork is deeper than a typical massage, you should never feel pain.
You may have heard the saying, “no pain, no gain”. This does not hold true. By working deeper than your comfort level, your body enters a state of protection by tensing up which is counter productive. This inhibits the body’s ability to relax, which is the first step toward releasing tight muscles. By calming the nervous system during your massage, your body will allow for deeper manipulation and which leads to longer lasting results.
